HGA supports financial institutions and companies with international lending standards such as the International Finance Corporation's (IFC) Performance Standard 6: Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Management of Living Natural Resources (PS6) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development's (EBRD) Performance Requirement 6.

HGA assisted both IFC and EBRD in updating their current guidance notes for PS6 and PR6 (Guidance Note 6) and in developing internal technical notes on important topics like managing biodiversity risks in agricultural supply chains. We currently assist both lenders with due diligence and supervision of investments as it relates to compliance with PS6/PR6.

HGA has also developed technical notes on biodiversity management for the Multilateral Financing Institutions (MFI) Biodiversity Working Group (including IFC, EBRD, IDB, World Bank, EIB, ADB, and AfDB) and the Cross Sector Biodiversity Initiative (ICMM, IPIECA, and Equator Principle Financial Institutions).

In addition to working with lenders, HGA also assists companies to comply with lender standards and voluntary corporate biodiversity standards. We have worked with companies in mining, wind and LNG energy generation, pipelines, and resort development.
